Imagine a space where your child can be their truest self through play.
Immersive, engaging and child-directed, each day for each child is their own personal version of the ‘best camp ever.’ During play at Brooklyn Wild, children are in charge of their own time—from building forts to digging mud tunnels, from finding worms to reading in the shade, from creating currencies out of bottle caps to negotiating complex rules to new games. It all happens here.
Trained adult playworkers and nature educators gently support children’s play without judgment, creating a soothing rhythm to the day that moves the group from trees to fields to water play and to local playgrounds and parks. They respect children’s ideas and all play types, and create environments of freedom and permission while keeping everyone safe.
Each day is unique because play follows the children’s interests and the changing rhythms of deep nature play. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday we'll explore green spaces, playgrounds and water play near Sunset Park and Prospect Park. On Wednesday, we'll begin and end in the Sunset Park neighborhood, but spend the day on a field trip to Coney Island beach. Classes take place all outdoors, rain or shine. For dangerously inclement weather, we'll visit indoor spaces like libraries, museums or Industry City.

Fees are due in full at registration and we can offer a refund (minus credit card processing fees) if you cancel before March 1st, 2025. After March 1st, we can provide a partial credit for future use.

Our mixed age summer classes run from 9:00 am to 3 pm, Monday - Friday. Drop off and pick up locations will be near the park or R train in Sunset Park; exact details will be available later in the spring.
Our core age range is 4 to 10, but we welcome younger children who are capable of long walks without a nap break, and we welcome older children who enjoy playing and exploring with younger folks while practicing their leadership skills.
