5 pm at Prospect Park/Greenwood Ave and

5:30 pm at Sunset Park/45th Street

And an option for self-dismissal for 4th grade and up

At Brooklyn Wild, we support children’s autonomy and social skills through play, nature exploration and inquiry.

Our all-outdoor after school classes mix forest school with adventure play, offering the space and time for kids to be as they are, follow their own ideas, no judgments and no adult agendas. Whether it's digging worms, climbing trees, writing books, identifying birds, following waterways, creating elaborate games or trying on social roles through pretend play--it all happens here. Playworkers and nature educators gently support the group dynamic, following the students' interests and curiosity, building trust and warm relationships, while maintaining safe boundaries.

When dangerously inclement weather is forecast for the entire class, we visit indoor spaces like the library or Industry City.

Tuition and fees cover:

• 4 hours of outdoor, child-led conversation, exploration and play, guided by playworkers and nature educators

• deep, hands-on connection to our local natural environments

• peer interactions that hone problem solving, cooperation and social skills

• loose parts play that enhances--and builds!--creativity and inquiry 

• access to our growing gear library, including rain suits and winter extras 

• an all-outdoor setting great for gross motor and fine motor development

• exclusive pre-registration access to any new classes

• support for our scholarships and community open play sessions
